When Attorney Csonka graduated law school he never intended to practice Bankruptcy Law.  The truth is one day a partner at his first firm plopped a bankruptcy down on his desk and told him to figure it out.  Well he did and discovered he and a true knack for the work.   Attorney Csonka attributes this to his upbringing as the son of a hardworking school teacher in Central Pennsylvania.    Understanding what it’s like to have money problems gives him a unique perspective into this work.  As he developed his Bankruptcy practice I began to notice a surprising lack of legal services available to those facing employment law issues.   Given that these issues often overlap with financial problems it was a natural move to expand into the field of Employment Law.  Despite it not being his original plan Attorney Csonka could not envision himself doing anything other than serving the unique needs of his Bankruptcy and Employment law clients.

Attorney Csonka was admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania on October 28, 2003.  He is also admitted to practice in United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, June, 16, 2004,  The United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit January 4, 2005,  The  United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania October 30, 2009, and The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania July 27, 2009.

Attorney Csonka is a member of the Middle District Bankruptcy Bar Association (MDBBA) and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA).    Outside of the practice of law Attorney Csonka has been a volunteer with the Pittsburgh Vintage Gran Prix (PVGP) in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania for over 20 years.    This even held every July in Schenley Park in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania is the largest Vintage Automobile Race in the Country  held on public roads and is accompanied by a car show of more than three thousand cars and other events.  Combined the PVGP has raised more than $4.3 million dollars for the Autism society of Western Pennsylvania and the Allegheny Valley School.   Attorney Csonka currently serves on the Operating Committee for this event and is the Area Captain in charge of paid parking.   Attorney Csonka is also an active alumni in the Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity where he first pledged Lambda Omicron chapter at West Virginia University as a freshman in 1995 and continued as an active at Beta chapter at the University of Pittsburgh while attending law school.  He is currently active with the Eastern Panhandle  Alumni Association.

Attorney Csonka was born Michael John Csonka on October 29, 1976 to John and Malinda Csonka in Hollidaysburg, PA.  His father, John Csonka, was a World Cultures and History teacher at Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School for forty years and his Mother Malinda Csonka was a stay at home mother and homemaker.   Attorney Csonka attributes most of his success to the support of his parents who still live in the same house they brought him home to in 1976.  He has one brother, James Csonka, an occupational therapist in Queens, New York  who specializes in working with children in the  New York City Public Schools, a sister in law Anna Csonka, also an occupational therapist, and one nephew Jason Csonka.   It is from this strong family that Attorney Csonka has learned some of his most valuable lessons he applies every day in his law practice.
